In the above example the MAP unit is interrogated via a mobile terminal. A smart phone would be best suited to this task.
SMS messages are used to send commands and receive status information from the RC-enabled units. The ISM radio band (433 MHz) is used for communication between these units and the MAP. Remote metering can optionally be added to the above application.
This example can form part of a Central office application where the data is gathered and monitored by dedicated organizations. In this case a server application hosts multiple clients with alarm and control capabilities. |
